Hey everyone I was hoping to get some ideas from you all. I’m running a email campaign for a client who is looking for companies who have an intent to sell their company. Does anyone have any ideas on intent data for this?
Interesting. If it were me… I'd probably try a bunch of things.
Look for companies that haven't raised money in a couple of years. That could be intentional, but it could also signal that they're trying to raise money but haven't yet.
I would look for companies born out of the USA — India etc. in the least 2–3 years and again the ones that haven't scaled exponentially yet.
It also depends on what you're selling? or why you want to connect with them
Adam, does this client already have a framework on how to find these type of leads?
AFAIK, it's a bit difficult to because more often than not these convos are privately brokered via texts...
Step 1 is definitely to talk with your client and discuss what manual steps they are doing to find these leads, and try to automate or use AI to shorten time to find the leads. Some random thoughts as signals: Scrape some of these sites Acquire.com (fka MicroAcquire), BizBuySell, Empire Flippers, FE International, Flippa (online), Axial (mid-market), DealStream, etc. Look if they hired a CEO or CFO recently Look for companies that fired x% of their team in clay
decrease number of employees, especially sales compared to last 6 months
etc, play around with this.
hope this helps Adam A.
