Clay Community Guidelines
Welcome to the Clay community!
To ensure a positive and productive environment for all members, we expect everybody, including our solutions partners, to follow these guidelines:
1. Be Thoughtful
Goes without saying but treat all members with kindness and respect.
Engage in discussions thoughtfully, even when opinions differ.
Focus on delivering value before capturing it.
Ask yourself, "How will I feel if I read this?" before posting.
Do not post the same message in multiple channels ā it comes across as spammy.
2. Stay On Topic ā Use the Right Channel
Explore all public channels and use the right ones. Every channel contains a description and most contain pinned messages with guidance and directives. Off-topic conversations can be moved to private messages or other platforms.
3. No Unsolicited DMs or Blatant Promotion ā ļø
We now have a zero tolerance policy for unsolicited DMs and have a dedicated channel š[private feed] for members to report these.
The only channel where members can post their content and events is Share Content and Events but link-dropping is not permitted.
Share Tables, Tools, and Workflows is only for folks who wish to share templates ā not content about tables. Members can also share tools they've built using Clay or those that benefit Clay users or GTMEs in particular.
Please see the pinned posts in the channels for tips on how to engage meaningfully.
4. Be Helpful
When offering feedback, be constructive and respectful. Aim to help others improve their work and ideas. Our community thrives on collaboration, so feel free to answer questions or share your expertise.
5. Maintain Privacy and Stay Vigilant
Respect the privacy of fellow community members and refrain from sharing personal information with any member via DMs.
Never invite anyone to your Clay Workspace unless you're absolutely certain about what you're doing.
Report any and all suspicious activity in š[private feed]. If you're unsure, DM me (Arpit Choudhury).
An unsolicited DM (if reported) leads to immediate account deactivation - without a warning.
6. Include Compensation in Job Posts š° The ones without any info about comp are unlikely to attract top talent anyway.
Use Share Full-time Jobs only for full-time jobs ā include a salary or compensation range in USD.
Use Share Part Time Jobs only for part-time roles and short-term projects ā include an hourly rate or range in USD (or a fixed compensation for one-off projects).
7. Embrace Diversity and Have Fun!
Our community welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and experiences.
Celebrate diversity by being inclusive in your interactions.
Enjoy being part of the Clay community ā if you're not having fun, well, what's the point of it all?
Thank you for being a part of the Clay Slack and together, we can make this the greatest GTM community on the planet! ![]()
