I'm never a fan of mass sending. so I spend a lot of time building a highly targeted list so I don’t need to blast 1k emails just to land one deal.
I only send 3–5 quality cold emails (manually, the traditional way).
My most conservative result so far:
And yes, I achieved that using nothing more than Gmail/Google Workspace.
I've pivoted my business to a diff service but I've decided to go back to cold emails, that's why I'm here, to A/B test both automated and manual approaches. I’ll admit I haven’t used automations yet for list building and sending cold emails and research and list creation take far more time for me than writing the actual cold email copy. That's why I'm excited to see how Clay would help me speed up lead list building.
Honestly, it’s a shame that I don’t even have a proper system in place yet. I’ve been working purely on instinct. I just hired a VA to help me build systems and processes for my startup, which is why I’m still using Google Sheets and Gmail for my cold email campaigns.
I haven’t been tracking my stats consistently because I was satisfied as long as I got results. But now that I’m focused on building a real system, I’m considering running my campaigns outside of Gmail so I can finally track my metrics properly.
What platform can you recommend for sending cold emails (something minimalist, as I have the tendency to get overwhelmed due to AuDHD 😅)
