Optimize Lead Distribution and A/B Testing with Clay's New Integration

·
·

Recently, Clay released an awesome new free native integration that is intended to make it fair for SDR teams of 2+ to “evenly distribute” and tag leads called “Distribute Leads Round-Robin” Another use case I found it to be very effective, is to use it to do your A/B split testing! For those (like myself) where you are writing the entire copy within Clay and sending it to your email sequencer of choice, this will save you tons of tokens and thus saving you $$ for variants that may not be used. Here’s how you can do it for yourself: 1️⃣ - Add the “Distribute Leads Round-Robin” integration to your current table, and add the variants you wish. 2️⃣ - Bring up your AI LLM of choice (in this case, I used Claude Sonnet 3.5 for its awesome copywriting skills) 3️⃣ - In the conditional formula, use the AI formula generator and input “run only if /select your variant result contains “variant 1” 4️⃣ - Repeat #3 except for “variant 2" For those who process copious amounts of AI tokens, your bank account will thank you. 🦾 https://youtu.be/XPOF5RwrEsQ

Lovely hack Brandon C.! I tested out Claude and the copy is more fluid than GPT but noticed it just replicated the exact copy for each row where input was the same, whereas GPT made minor changes which is great for Spintax. Is this the best solution or have I missed a prompt that encourages Claude to do this?

Thanks Dan K.! In your case, it’s all in the prompt. The AI will output varied outputs based on what you tell it. No need for spintax. I’ve consistently found Claude to be much better at copywriting and GPT for more task/Claygent based steps. LMK if that clarifies.

Brandon C. I just turned and burned rebuilding the core recruiter tables I have been developing based on this approach. Just excellent and really should be baked into clay from the get go. The gravy on top was that I also incidentally found a O call that should have been a mini that was burning through my weekend beer allowance meaning it's now tinnies from the fridge for me. I'd 100% recommend to anyone to restructure to this approach for appropriate use cases.
