I am a Sales and Account Manager for IT consulting services company. If I had to tell you for an AE role just one piece of advice, it would be to stay accountable. Easier said than done, even if it doesn't seem so. You say that this week you will make 500 cold calls? You do it. You say that within the EOM you will learn the Meddic? You do it. You tell yourself you need to do to X actions? You do it. No matter what. The best achiever are not the smartest, nor the most skilled. They are the ones that, no matter what, they do what they need to do
