Hi all - I'm currently using Clay to automate outbound by pulling signals and writing emails to push to send a sequence via Gong Engage. I was mentioned to recently that I should be careful on the number of emails that go out per inbox as this could hurt my email domain reputation (we are using our regular domain). Is anyone else running into something similar? How are you tackling this? We have been sending out over 1500 emails per day between 2 inboxes. All emails are different too as they are customized and written to personalize to the recipient (title and company)
Have you run domain authentication on your company domain yet?
Caroline H. I think the safe limit is not more than 30 emails per day per email address.
Eric F. - not yet. do you have recs on tools that do this?
Abhishek P. - I would assume that a human BDR would be able to send more than 30 emails out per day, no?
Did you mean using tools like mxtoolbox.com and glockapps.com to check if the settings are correct?
Caroline H. depends on the email they are sending. If it is deeply researched then no and if not then yes. Going above usually hurts inbox placement and deliverability.
Keep monitoring the deliverability stats. Not sure if Gong Engage shows them but most email sequencers show the health of the mailbox. Caroline H.
Caroline H. volume is less the issue than UNauthenticated volume. Well-authenticated domain can regularly push 100+/day per inbox without reputation damage. Two things worth checking on your setup, in order: 1. Is the domain you're sending from your main company domain, or a segregated subdomain (e.g., go.<company>.com or mail.<company>.com)? If it's the main domain, any reputation hit affects ALL company email - the segregation is what isolates the risk. 2. Is DMARC published and aligned with your SPF + DKIM? mxtoolbox.com on your sending domain shows this in 30 seconds. Also happy to do a quick scan on your sending domain and share the findings over DM if useful.
it is, esp if you're using the same body and sl again and again and you're send it in bulk like not spacing the time your mail def gonna get burned fast. i think max mails you can send/day is 30-50. if you just starting out it's ok to still use the current inbox you have but if you've been doing it for a long time and been getting this message "your mail can't be sent", it'd be better to create new inbox. also, validate the mails you're sending too first so you can save the quota for only verified mail addresses
