Question on Clay+SmartLead best practice... i just ran my first personalized cold email by enriching contacts in Clay and sending the personalized email content to SmartLead. To start I ran 50 contacts thru an email validation waterfall (Apollo > LeadMagic >Findy) and turned on the campaign.
After 19 of the 50 emails were sent, 3 bounced which triggered the (conservative) Smartlead pause button on the campaign. I did a deep dive and discovered the 3 that bounced were 'valid' emails but the status was 'catch all'. However, 4 that went thru successfully were also 'valid' and 'catch all'.
What is best practice for sending validated emails from Clay to SmartLead? Do the cold email experts only send emails that are both 'valid' and 'safe to send' (i.e. most restrictive set of filters)? In my example above, imposing such a tight filter would have resulted in eliminating the 4 valid+catch all emails that were successful.
Not a big deal for one campaign, but the goal is to scale this and minimize bounce rates.
Any thoughts you have I'd be grateful!
