It depends on the provider. Different providers have different policies for unsuccessful queries. For Hunter (Clay-managed account): Credits are charged for each attempt regardless of whether an email is found, but if no email is found, the credits are refunded. For Prospeo: Credits are charged for each query, regardless of whether an email is successfully located. You can check this doc to see which actions are refundable for each provider.

Hey there, thanks for reaching out! To get the contacts work email address you'll want to use one of our work email waterfalls! These can be found in our enrichment panel as shown below. Note: Different providers may require different inputs. Meaning, it's worth it to get all of your contacts at the point where you have the contacts full name, the company domain and the company name.
