How to Find Google Play URLs or IDs for Company Apps in the Google Store

·
·

Hello everyone! While my question doesn’t directly relate to Clay, I’m hoping someone could share insights on how to gather necessary data for cold outreach. I have a list of company names along with their main website URLs. I’m need to find the Google Play URLs or IDs of the apps that each company owns in the Google Store. Could you suggest a way to do this? I’ve been searching for days for a solution, and it seems there’s no way! I hope someone could share relevant experience and an idea of how this could be implemented. Thank you!!!

Hi Daria! Brandon here…you could do this with the Google search integration. In the Google search query box, type in: site:play.google.com /companyname where it says /companyname simply use the column where your company names are populated.

Once it runs the enrichment, bring up the enrichment box and under the Search Results, it’ll populate the Google Play Url:

Here’s an example. You can add that as a column and/or begin to interpolate/process data from there!

Thank you, Muhammad and Brandon! Yep, that would definitely solve this with a Google Search and specifying the domain it should search in.

Hi Brandon C.!! Thank you so much, for suggesting it! How this scenario work if the input provided was a company name for which the app doesn’t exist on Google Play? I’m not yet a user of Clay, but I’ve attempted something quite similar using a web scraper for Google search results. I entered ‘google play company URL’ in the Google search query box and collected the first organic search result. From my tests, sometimes the resulting link is correct, but not always. It’s common that for some companies, there’s no app on Google Play, yet Google search still provides a certain link. Obviously, it’s not the correct one since the app doesn’t exist. Have you encountered these cases? Does using Clay eliminate this kind of issue?

Ahh, that's a good one. Maybe a way to combine this with AI would be by using Claygent. Here's a link to our post: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/clay-hq_claygent-completely-changes-how-we-do-sales-activity-7130200224974688256-R4gx?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktopand the recent YouTube video about this feature: https://youtu.be/ageaLG49EOI?feature=shared

You could prompt Claygent to check and ensure it only returns those that it can confirm are from the actual company.
