Hey Team - Any tips on how to use Company Lookalike with Ocean.io and exclude customer records from the search? I tried uploading a list of domains to the filters of the column, but there are many (over 1000), so it throws an error
When working with Company Lookalikes and needing to exclude a large list of domains (over 1000), you have a better option than trying to upload them all at once to the filter. Instead, use the "Exclude companies" feature in the Find Companies source: 1. Create a table with all your customer domains you want to exclude 2. When setting up your Company Lookalike search, look for the "Exclude companies" option 3. Select your table of customer domains to exclude them from the search results This approach handles large exclusion lists more efficiently than trying to input all domains directly in the "Domains to Exclude" field, which has limitations when dealing with very large lists. If you continue experiencing issues, try running your search in smaller batches with fewer domains to exclude at a time.
It doesnt work
For large exclusion lists over 1000 domains, try these alternative approaches: 1. Split your exclusion list into smaller batches and run multiple lookalike searches with different exclusion sets. 2. Create a separate table with your exclusion domains, then use Clay's filtering capabilities to remove matches after generating lookalikes. 3. Use the "Find Company Lookalikes with Companies, People, Jobs" source instead of Ocean.io, as it has different filtering options that might handle larger exclusion lists. 4. Try using industry or keyword exclusions instead of domain exclusions if your customer domains fall into specific categories.
