Is anyone else facing trouble uploading CSVs to Clay? I've been trying to upload a CSV since Friday and even though the columns get populated, the rows never show up in the table. Can anyone please help with this?
This sounds like a CSV formatting issue. Try these troubleshooting steps: • Remove "created at" or "updated at" columns from your CSV • Ensure your file has maximum 72 columns and 50,000 rows • Use UTF-8 encoded CSV with comma separators • Upload to Google Sheets, then download as CSV and try again • Make sure the CSV filename is short If you're seeing empty rows after filtering, try clearing your browser cache and refreshing - this can resolve front-end display issues . If the issue persists after trying these steps, please share your CSV file in this chat so we can investigate further.
there are no 'updated at' or 'created at' columns in the csv the CSV is under the maximum limit of columns and rows tried uploading to google sheets and downloaded before uploading to Clay, thats not working either
Since you've tried the standard troubleshooting steps, this might be a front-end display issue. Try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the page - this can resolve issues where columns appear but rows don't display properly. If clearing your cache doesn't work, please share your CSV file in this chat so we can investigate the specific formatting issue preventing the rows from appearing.
Since you've shared your CSV file, I can help investigate the specific formatting issue. Common causes for columns appearing but rows not displaying include: • Mixed separators - If your CSV mixes commas and semicolons as separators, it can cause interpretation issues • Special characters - Removing commas, colons, and semicolons from within your data fields can resolve display problems • File encoding - Ensure your CSV uses UTF-8 encoding Try cleaning your CSV by removing any special characters (commas, colons, semicolons) from the actual data fields, then re-upload. If the issue persists after cleaning the file, request human assistance by clicking "Talk to a person" so our team can examine your specific CSV file directly.
Hi Balaaj, Thanks for reaching out to support. How many rows is your CSV? It may be that your import file is too large.
Hi Nicole, thanks for getting back. It's only ~760 rows, not that large of a file
got it, and Just to clarify, you are starting with the "Import CSV" action and uploading the CSV, running into an error message. If so, would you be able to show me what error you're seeing on your end? Feel free to record a Loom or send a screenshot.
That's correct, but im not seeing any error messages. The list gets uploaded without any errors but only the Columns get uploaded and the rows remain empty. Here are screenshots from the same workbook but different tables. I tried uploading the CSV multiple times with the adjustments you recommended and each time I get a table looking like these. Here is the table url: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/11974/workbooks/wb_0t11jr1HmQQi36JSfrg/tables/t_0t16xvbndrAcWcbUdns/views/gv_0t16xvbv5wn45qiWgbs here is the CSV that im trying to upload: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18LqFGuj3xu0cnsYHdggyCO1oEMChrqpD0mq03ZQLhD0/edit?gid=0#gid=0
Balaaj - Sorry for this, it looks like we've got a bug on our hands. I've escalated this to our engineering team to help look into it. We'll follow up here as soon as we know more!
No worries! Any estimates as to when I'll be able to continue with the table? Thanks!
Hi, our engineers are working to fix the issue as fast as they can, I will provide you with updates once we have them :)
Awesome, thanks!
Hi Nicole! Do we have any updates on this^?
