i have two company tables, table 1 and table 2. when a company gets added in table 1 that's already in table 2, i want to trigger that company/ row to rerun in table 2. is this possible?
Yes, you can achieve this using our "write to table" feature with auto-update enabled. [1]
Set up a write to table enrichment in Table 1 that writes to Table 2. Enable auto-update so when new companies are added to Table 1, they automatically trigger the write to table action. [2]
In the write to table configuration, use "Update row(s) if existing rows are found" to rerun existing companies in Table 2 when they're added to Table 1. You can also use conditional triggers with "Only run if" settings to control exactly when the rerun happens.
This creates an automated workflow where adding companies to Table 1 will trigger reruns of matching companies in Table 2.

i'm not seeing: Update row(s) if existing rows are found in the write to other table enrichment
The "Update row(s) if existing rows are found" option is available in Google Sheets integrations, not in the write to table feature. [1]
For write to table between Clay tables, the feature automatically handles existing rows differently - when you send data to a table that already contains matching rows, it updates those existing rows by default. [2]
The write to table feature focuses on auto-update settings and conditional runs with "Only run if" conditions rather than explicit update toggles. [3]
Did that answer your question?
wrong. when i send data from table 1 to table 2 and the account/ URL already exists, it still creates a new row. I am trying to not create a new row, and instead update the row that already exists
You're correct - the "send table data" feature creates new rows by default. However, according to our documentation, when you first send a row it creates a new row in the destination table, but for subsequent sends, it updates that same row. [1]
This suggests the feature should update existing rows on subsequent sends rather than creating duplicates. If you're still seeing new rows created for existing accounts/URLs, this may be a technical issue that needs human assistance. Please request to talk to a person for further troubleshooting.

Hi Andy, thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, there isn't a native way to automatically trigger rows to rerun in Table 2 when a matching company is added to Table 1. But this is a commonly requested feature that we're aware of. One workaround you could consider is to set up Table 2 to rerun on a schedule:
Click the ⛭ icon (gear) in the top right of Table 2
Select "Rerun columns on a schedule"
Choose your frequency (daily, weekly, etc.)
Select which columns should rerun
Let me know if you have further questions or need additional help! 😊
