Getting this error when trying to add AI column
This error suggests there's an issue with the AI model selection. Try these steps:
Refresh your browser - Do a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac)
Select a specific model - When adding your AI column, make sure to explicitly select a model from the dropdown instead of leaving it on "auto" [1]
Check available models - Click "Compare models" to see all available options including Claude Sonnet 3.7 and Google's Gemini 2.0 [2]
If you're still seeing the error after trying these steps, click into the specific cell where you're seeing the error to get more details about what's happening.
Let me know if the refresh and manual model selection fixes it!

Same for me. hard refresh did not help. The column i’d like to open is largely prepared prompt which is a part of one template. Re-writing the prompt from the scratch is not something i will do. Can’t copy the contents from elsewhere also, because the column is not not possible to open.
Since the hard refresh didn't work and you can't access your prepared prompt, try these steps:
Clear your browser cache completely - this often resolves persistent error messages that refreshing alone won't fix.
Create a duplicate column - If the original column is stuck, duplicate it and run it on the affected rows. You can filter for rows where the current column "is empty," then run the AI on those rows. Afterward, use the "merge columns" feature to combine results.
Try Sculptor - Clay's built-in AI tool in the top-right corner can help you rebuild the column and recreate your prompt quickly. It's free to use and might be faster than starting from scratch.
Click into the specific error cell - This will expose more details about what's causing the "No model found with name 'auto'" error, which could help identify if it's a template-specific issue.
Let me know if clearing the cache or using Sculptor helps resolve this! [1]

Hello Noah! Thanks for reaching out! I checked it out and can see the same error on my end. Couple of questions: 1. Did this start happening suddenly? Was it working just fine until now? 2. Did you try creating a new AI column. Is the error consistent on your end?
you have a selection in model preference called “auto”, so it Clay would make the call of model used based on task characteristics. In template if this column has not been used yet, it is set to auto (not opening now, giving the error). Opening the same column in other table, where model has set, it opens.
Hi Noah - happy to help!
Just to confirm, this is a template AI column that you've made previously? Have you used it yet in this table / tried to create a new one?
Noah started the thread, i’m not him. but Yes it is template AI column. I have not used it, be cause I cannot open it. The prompt needs to be modified before using. I am not able to do it.
