Troubleshooting Clay's 'Find Warm Intros' Swarm Enrichment Issues

Hi team, I am looking to use the 'Find Warm Intros to Person' Swarm enrichment and I was able to use this at one point successfully a couple months ago, however, setting up a new table with this enrichment, it is showing an error. I already chatted Clay Support (AI Agent) and the suggestions were to re-authenticate and if that does not work, delete the connection and re-add it, and delete the enrichment and start over. I can't re-authenticate because Im using Clay's provided key. And there is no way to remove and readd that. Also, Ive tried removing the enrichment and re-adding, but there is no way to select my default authenticated account, the Clay-provided Swarm key. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hey - Do you mind sending the link (url) to the table so we can take a look? Top of my head, I'm not sure why you'd see this error, so I'd like to have a closer look with you.

Thank you! When adding 'Find warm intros to person', I see that it wants you to select a private key.
I could have sworn that both actions were available with the Clay key/Clay credits.
I'm not sure when/if that changed at some point. I'll take a moment to investigate deeper here, and report back.

Okay, confirmed. Looks like the shared key doesn't have access to that endpoint (this changed in late September), and so the 'Find warm intros to person' requires a private key.

I will say that when using your own The Swarm account, you can increase the coverage/ability to find warm intros for your company. When using the Clay key, it will not take into account your LinkedIn connections, calendar, or contact book.
With the Clay key, it instead only uses the work history & education of the employees at your company to find relevant overlaps with the target account/person. By adding in the extra data using your private API key, it also takes into consideration LinkedIn connections and other data you supply.

One other follow up question on this topic. Is it typical for the Find warm intros to company action to take 10+ minutes for awaiting callback? I have been waiting, and refreshing, and its not updating, but also not showing an error Mark L. not sure if that is typical?

That's not unheard-of. Initial mappin can take a bit of time, as The Swarm has to scan all those connections and build out the graph of relationships.

One teammate shared this 3-stage crawl/walk/run approach recently. I'm going to shameless plagiarize:
1. Crawl (No Swarm Account Required)
Start with the Clay-managed integration for immediate results:
- Enter your target domain in the Find warm intros to person action
- Wait 2-3 hours for initial one-time mapping (subsequent runs are instant)
- Swarm automatically maps employee work and education overlaps
Note: This does NOT use LinkedIn network connections
2. Walk (bring your own API keys) Enhance hit rates with your own Swarm account:
- Create account at app.theswarm.com (14-day free trial)
- Add "passive connectors"(customers, investors, partners)
- Use your API key in Clay for increased match rates
- Import LinkedIn CSVs for passive connectors
3. Run (Maximum Coverage) Fully optimize your warm intro discovery:
- Invite "active connectors"via Swarm web app
- Connect LinkedIn profiles using Chrome extension
