vertical "paste and overwrite" isn't pasting/filling cells for me anymore, seems like a recent change has stopped this from working?

Try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the view to resolve this issue. You might be experiencing short-term front-end performance issues that can affect paste functionality.
If clearing your cache doesn't work, try performing a hard refresh:
Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R
Mac: Cmd + Shift + R

Half solved; "past and overwrite" works when dragging the blue circle to fill cells However, it doesn't seem to work when just ctrl + v pasting. No big deal.

Got it! Glad the drag-to-fill method is working for you.
For direct copy-paste (Ctrl + V), you can paste values into cells manually—just select the cell and paste the correct value directly.
