Hello, I'm working on importing Mixpanel Cohorts into a table, but when i have try to add them, Clay seems to show no projects found as seen below. The connected account has appropriate access and the credentials are correct
The "no projects found" error typically occurs when the Project ID isn't correctly configured. When importing Mixpanel Cohorts, you need to manually enter the specific Project ID from your Mixpanel account. To resolve this: 1. Get your Project ID from Mixpanel - this is a specific identifier for your project 2. In Clay, when adding the Mixpanel source, manually enter this Project ID in the required field 3. Verify your connection is properly set up in Settings > Connections The integration requires the exact Project ID to pull cohort data, so double-check you're using the correct ID from your Mixpanel dashboard.
I have the project ID but it doesn't seem to allow me to add it in the prompt
When importing Mixpanel Cohorts, you should see a Project ID input field after selecting your Mixpanel account. Here's the correct process:
1. In your workbook, click + Add
at the bottom
2. Search for Mixpanel
and select it
3. Add your connected Mixpanel account
4. You'll see input fields for:
• Project ID (required field where you enter your ID)
• Cohort Type
The Project ID field should appear automatically once you've selected your account. If the Project ID input field isn't appearing, try refreshing the page or reconnecting your Mixpanel account in Settings > Connections.
If you're still not seeing the Project ID field after these steps, please request human assistance by clicking "Talk to a person" for further troubleshooting.
The field is there but it is not accepting any project IDs
Hey Levi! Thanks for raising this. Behind the scenes, when Clay is trying to get the list of projects, Mixpanel is sending back this error: "Invalid service account credentials" As a point of comparison... ** Do you have any better luck when trying to authenticate and import with a regular non-service account? ** Do you have any better luck when calling Mixpanel's API using the service account, outside of Clay? Clay can't do much about Mixrank's rejection here, but I'm curious what we learn attempting under other users and other apps.
Mark (Clay) Thanks Mark - Our org uses SSO for Mixpanel currently however my account was created before that and still works with my standard email and PW login. Is it possible to authenticate with the SSO account?
Hmmm, right. Our current connection setup only allows for user/password authentication. Would you have ability to set up the service account with that auth method? I'm not sure if your SSO system would allow an exception for that. I can check on potential Mixpanel SSO roadmap/timeline for future enhancement, but wouldn't want to leave y'all waiting for some ambiguous time period!
Mark (Clay) I understand now - it requires a certain type of service account. I was under the impression a standard account would suffice. Nothing else needed - my only feedback would to make that clear in the set up documentation : )
Hey — thanks for calling that out! That’s really helpful feedback. We’ll pass it along to the product team to see how we can make the setup docs clearer going forward.
