Hello, I want to push data from one table to the other, even though it is “stale”. Meaning I consider it is good data and I don’t want to re-run these columns. I researched a lot, and it seems there is no way to do this. Can Clay S. assist here?
You can actually send stale data without re-running those columns! In your Send table data settings, there's an option called "Update existing rows on re-run" that you can turn off. [1]
This setting lets you always create new rows instead of updating existing ones, so you can push your current data (even if it's marked as stale) to the destination table without being forced to re-run the upstream columns first.
The yellow "Send table data" cell should still work with the existing data from those red cells, even though Clay is warning they're out of date.
Was that helpful?
I tried that and it doesn’t work
Got it - if the "Update existing rows on re-run" setting isn't working, try using Force Run in your table settings. This can help resolve issues with Send table data functions that aren't processing correctly.
If that doesn't work, you might need to delete the Send table data column and create a fresh one, then re-map your data.
Can you try the Force Run option first and let me know if that helps push through your stale data? [1]
Used force run also and it didn’t work.
Since both the "Update existing rows on re-run" setting and Force Run didn't work, try deleting the Send table data column entirely and creating a fresh one. Then re-map your data fields to the new column. [1]
This often resolves issues where the Send table data function gets stuck and won't process your existing data properly.
Before we escalate this further, have you tried using Sculptor? It's our built-in AI tool in the top-right corner that can help troubleshoot table issues and set up automations. Give it a try and let me know if that helps resolve the Send table data problem.
I’m sorry the previous suggestions didn’t resolve the issue with pushing stale data. Would you like to share more details about what you’re trying to achieve so I can assist you further?
Can I speak with a person?
Got it — I’m connecting you to a human teammate now.

Hi Radisa, thanks for reaching out. Currently, Clay doesn't allow sending data when upstream cells are stale - this is by design to protect data integrity. The only workaround is to copy the stale values into a new basic column (manual entry type) and reference that column instead in your Send Table Data action. We've shared feedback with our product team about adding an option to bypass stale warnings for cases where you intentionally want to work with existing data. Thanks for reporting this and sorry for the inconvenience here!
We haven't heard back from you here, so we're going to go ahead and close this thread out.
