Hello, I was wondering do credits expire or do they only expire if there is a rollover of credits for the following month?
Credits in Clay only expire if you exceed the rollover limit or don’t use them within the designated timeframe—specifically, if you go over the maximum allowed rollover (usually 2x your monthly plan limit), the extra credits expire and can’t be restored. If you stay within the rollover cap, your credits roll over and don’t expire just because they’re carried forward. For free accounts, credits earned during a cohort expire at the end of each month, but for paid accounts, unused credits roll over up to the cap and don’t expire unless you exceed it or your trial/free workspace refreshes at the end of the monthly cycle [1] [2] [3] .

How do I find the designated timeframe for credits
To find when your credits will next renew, go to the Credits section in your account. There, you’ll see the date and time when your credits are set to renew for the next cycle.

so say i have 4000 credits that expire dec 24, if i choose to pay for a plan later on in february will i receive the 4000 credits that didn't originally roll over?
No, those 4000 credits that expire on Dec 24 won't be restored if you upgrade to a paid plan in February. Once credits exceed the rollover limit or expire, they're permanently lost and can't be recovered.
