Hi there, is there a way to get Slack to post to External connections rather than a channel in my own Slack - a client has invited me to her channel and I want to post in there. Many thanks
Yes, you can send messages to external Slack channels using our Slack integration. The "Send Message to Channel" action allows you to post messages to any Slack channel you have access to, including channels in external workspaces where you've been invited. To set this up, you'll need to connect your Slack account through Settings > Connections or via any integration panel using OAuth authentication. Once connected, you can specify the target Slack channel name in the Slack Channel field when configuring the action. Are you currently able to access and post messages manually in your client's Slack channel through the regular Slack interface?
I pasted the Channel ID in and get this: The integration failed to run {"ok":false,"error":"channel_not_found","warning":"missing_charset","response_metadata":{"warnings":["missing_charset"]}}
I can paste to the channels in my Slack absolutely fine
Scrap that - I had to add Clay as a bot
All good
No, you cant
you need enhanced permissions to do that
best way - ask them to create a webhook for you so you can just post to that webhook They dont have to give you any permissions in that case
I managed to work it - by adding Clay as a bot to the channel - thanks for the tips
Glad you were able to work that out. I'll close this ticket out now!
