Integrating Hubspot with Clay: Challenges & Solutions Needed
Hi - I am trying to do something seemingly simple but surprisingly complex. Objectives:
- 1.
Integrate with Hubspot
- 2.
Update existing Hubspot Company records with enriched info from Clay tables where the company domain exists already in Hubspot
- 3.
Create new records in Hubspot where the company domain doesn’t already exist
- 4.
Have this always on as I continue to add enrichments and new companies
What I have tried:
- 1.
Originally created a “Hubspot > Create object” column and realized it was creating duplicates each time I updated the rows with new columns and ran the column
- 2.
Researched and found I likely need to bring in from Hubspot the Hubspot Record ID so that I can refer to this to either use the “Update object (enrich only)” for existing records and “Create object (enrich only)” for new records. (This was surprising unintuitive for something that seems so common, which makes me wonder if I am missing a simpler solution)
- 3.
Created a new table called “Import objects from Hubspot” and created a formula column to pull in the Hubspot Record ID
- 4.
Used Sculptor for at least an hour trying to sync the Hubspot Record ID from the new table to my main company table (unsuccessfully, despite going over it many times and making any of the suggestion potential errors). I get all errors saying “No Record Found” and Sculptor was making suggestions about values to enter in fields that just weren’t options and we kept going in circles.
I tried to find a step by step for something that seems like it would be very common but couldn’t find anything. I am sure I am missing something obvious to others and would love some help - thanks!
