In this table, I am trying to add a Mobile Phone waterfall enrichment. It says I have reached the column limit (40 action columns or 100 total columns). I think this is a bug because I am currently only using 42 columns and I doubt I have hit the max on either Please fix this bug or increase the number of columns. I haven't done much at all with this workbook, its crazy to hit the column limit like this https://app.clay.com/workspaces/11127/workbooks/wb_zQ6468EVzX5Z/tables/t_0t8xagz4g8o8NmaJY8h/views/gv_M9HyQ6PodMFS
This isn't a bug - you've hit the action column limit. Clay tables have a 70 total column limit, with up to 40 action/enrichment columns (which increases from 30 when you use waterfalls). [1]
Even though you see 42 total columns, the issue is specifically with action columns. Waterfalls and enrichments count as action columns, and you've reached that 40-column cap.
To add your mobile phone waterfall, you'll need to delete some completed enrichment columns first, or split your workflow across multiple tables using the 'Send Table Data' action.
Is that what you were looking for?
No. It is a bug. I only have one waterfall. I dont see how I would have hit the limit.

Hi George, sorry for the trouble here.Adding the Mobile Phone number is another additional 24 action columns, since each provider runs a validation column.
I know this isn't ideal, but we recommend using Send Table Data, that way you can run new waterfalls on a table that has less columns!
Hi Natalie, dont you think it's a bit insane that you have a 40 action column limit when a single waterfall is 24 action columns? Highly recommend prioritizing a feature to make your tables usable beyond 40 cols given how your waterfalls have advanced in complexity
Hey George! Totally understand your frustration here. The action column limit is set so your Clay table doesn't lag/give out on performance. The default is 12 providers (before validators) which if you click into the configuration, you can remove providers by preference.
Our teams are aware of this concern and are working to address this on the roadmap in the future however. Thank you for your feedback here. Is there anything else we could help you with?
We haven't heard back from you here, so we're going to go ahead and close this thread out.
