Hey fellow Clay makers, I have a big issue with enriching a list of companies I have with finding the right DMU people for our ICP. I have tested almost all possible tools in clay to find this but without success. I have also tried with separate tools like apollo to try to find this. But I alway get the same issue. It finds people but with almost always with the right job title. Do you know any smart ways to fix this issue?
Hey Pontus B. Yep, that’s a common issue titles alone usually aren’t reliable. what works better is layering signals: Seniority + function filters (e.g. VP/CFO in Finance) Cross-check with LinkedIn data or company headcount Enrich in Apollo first, then re-verify in clay with LinkedIn Profile Scraper or JD keywords Not perfect, but combining 2–3 filters is way more accurate than title-only searches.
Hi Pontu, That’s a common pain point — even the best enrichment tools struggle with DMU/ICP accuracy since job titles alone don’t always map cleanly to decision-making power. One approach that’s worked for us is layering Clay enrichment with custom logic: parsing “about us” / leadership pages, cross-checking with press releases or LinkedIn activity, and then tagging confidence scores for each contact. If you’d like, I can show you how we’ve set up Clay workflows that combine enrichment + lightweight manual research to consistently surface the real DMUs instead of just job-title matches. Happy to walk you through a setup if that’s helpful! 🚀 Best, Sourabh Panoptic Analytics panopticanalytics.com sourabh@panopticanalytics.com LI: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sourabh85/
It is a decent solution but it is not sustainable for me. I have 30-50 thousand rows of data. So to run these Claygent would be to expensive (in terms of credits) I am afraid. 😞
