Hi! When I use the find people function and filter on certificates why does Clay also uses this keyword in experiences? For example when I use Salesforce I see 0 Salesforce certificates but I do see the keyword in experiences. Also why can I only write max 2 certificates to a table while a person could have many more?
The Find People function includes separate filters for Certification and Experience. The certification filter searches for specific certifications like AWS, Google Cloud, HubSpot, or Salesforce. The experience filter searches through keywords in experience descriptions and can include past experiences if toggled on. These are distinct filtering options that work independently - certification filters target actual certifications while experience filters search through job history and role descriptions. Are you seeing Salesforce results in the experience section when using the certification filter, or are you using both filters simultaneously in your search?
"Are you seeing Salesforce results in the experience section when using the certification filter" this is what is happening
The certification filter in Find People targets individuals certified in platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce, AWS, and Google Cloud. This filter searches for specific certifications and should be separate from the experience filter, which searches through keywords in experience descriptions. The certification keywords feature searches for keywords in the profile's certifications. However, the available documentation doesn't specify technical details about why certification searches might display results in the experience section or limitations on the number of certificates that can be added to a table. Are you using only the certification filter when you see Salesforce appearing in the experience section, or do you have other filters like "Past Experiences" toggled on that might be affecting the results?
I only use the certificates filter. Also curious about why max 2 certificates can be shown if I want to work with a play based on certificates
see the first person in that table
Hi there, thank you for reaching out! Right now, Clay searches for your keywords pretty much anywhere in a person’s profile. That way, we can cast a wide net and bring back as many potential candidates as possible. I totally get where you’re coming from about wanting to narrow things down. I’ve already passed your feedback along to our product team so they can look into it further. In the meantime, here’s a little workaround you can try: you can add a formula column to your table that checks for specific keywords in the certificates section we’ve pulled in. Then, just filter your results based on that column to zero in on the people you’re really interested in. As for only seeing two certificates per person, that’s a current limitation with our Enrich Person feature. If you need more info, you might want to try tools like Apify or Phantombuster, they can sometimes pull extra details from profiles. Let me know if you’d like some help setting up that formula column or if you have any other questions! - Smit
Thank you for your reply Smit. Since I can only see certificates when fully enriching people that means wasting credits on people who don't have the certificates I'm looking for. The formula is a nice idea but not relevant when I only see the 2 latest certificates
Actually, I just checked the first person's LinkedIn profile and I can see that they have certificates from Salesforce and hence they were pulled in.
The confusion was because they didn't get pulled in the 'Enrich Person' step. I also confirmed with our engineers and they said that if keywords for certificates were mentioned then they only search for those in certificates and not the entire profile.
Ok thanks for double checking. I just looked at the LinkedIn logo 😅 that changes the situation
Glad to see that it helps. Is there anything else I can help with?
No that's it, thanks
