Hey, I’m using Google to find local businesses as data sources, but I’m running into issues with result limits. My use case: I’m trying to get all high-end restaurants in a specific European country, and I need to perform this search weekly to catch all new openings. I’ve narrowed the search to a few kilometers around major cities and have maxed out the number of sources for a table. Since I cannot exclude certain restaurant types in the initial search, I’m hitting the results limit. I’m a bit stuck on how to improve this or what other approaches might work.
Google Maps has a 1,000 result limit per search. [1] To get all high-end restaurants, segment your search into smaller chunks based on geography or criteria.
Solutions:
Reduce search radius: Instead of 15km, try 5-8km circles around each major city [2]
Split by city: Run separate searches for each major city rather than country-wide
Use specific restaurant types: Search for "fine_dining_restaurant" or "upscale_restaurant" categories individually instead of all restaurant types
Multiple tables: Create separate tables for different regions or restaurant categories
The Google Maps integration divides large areas into smaller circles automatically, but focusing on business-dense areas with smaller perimeters will optimize results.
Is that what you were looking for?

Not really that's what I do already

Hey Arthur - thanks for your patience!
Even upgrading to a higher plan won’t increase the number of Google Maps results you can pull, but there’s a workaround you can try:
Once your initial Google Maps search finishes, click on the column header → Sources → Edit Source.
You’ll see a “Fetch Additional Results” button where you can choose how many more results to load
Click “Fetch Additional Results”, and Clay will bring in up to 1,000 more listings.
Clean up duplicates: Use Clay’s Auto Dedupe feature to keep only unique entries.
For autodedupe, the best practice is to add a normalizationcolumn for the field you’re deduping because autodedupe only works on exact matches. This helps standardize the data first, so your dedupe runs more effectively. After that, you can send the normalized data through the rest of your enrichments as usual.
I hope this helps and don't hesitate to reach back out!
Hello Ashwin D., Thank you for your answer, i tried clicking on Fetch Additional Results and nothing happens. My sources were already set up to run daily, so it should already fetch additional results on a daily basis. But this message "Already found 1237 results, and cumulative number of results searched must be an integer between 1 and 1000." seems that I cannot get more result.
For me the solution was to increase this number of result in Clay (if do-able) or to add a filter directly in the source in order avoid bringing out of scope result and filter then after !
