Understanding the 'Past Experience' Filter in Find People Source
what does Past experience option do in the find people source? I expected it to filter against past experience but it does on the recent one instead or the latest one
The Past Experiences option in the Find People source allows you to include past experiences in your search, not just the current or most recent one. When toggled on, it matches your search criteria against all of a person's past experiences, not just their current role. Sunny D.··give me an example because I dont see this. Eg I wanted to find people who were past CEOs of a particular search criteria based on their past exp. It gave me this profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurencefink/ I dont see my filters on the past exp here. This guy has been the president of blackrock since the last 37yeards

When you toggle on the "Past experiences" option, our search includes all of a person's past roles, not just their current one. For example, to find past CEOs: 1. In the Job Title field, enter "CEO" 2. Toggle on "Include Past Experiences" 3. Set a maximum for "Months Since Start Date of Current Role" (e.g., 12 months) This search would find people who: ** Have "CEO" in their job history ** Are not currently CEOs (for at least 12 months) This way, you'll capture people who were CEOs in the past but have moved on to other roles. If you're still not seeing the expected results, you might want to review your other search criteria or request human assistance for further troubleshooting.

There's no option called "months since start date of current role" it's just "Max months in current role"

The past experience toggle is designed to match your criteria against both a person’s past experiences and their current role-it doesn’t look only at past roles. That’s why, in the case of the profile you shared for Larry Finch (who is currently the CEO of BlackRock), he was included in the search results. If you want to find people who were CEOs only in the past (and are not currently CEOs), you can first import your list with the past experience toggle enabled. Then, in your table, add a filter to exclude any rows where the person’s current job title is CEO. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need help setting things up :)

So is it an OR or AND . Like would it check if a person is the current CEO and also check if his last exp was CEO or does do an OR. CEO currently or in the past? Because It only gets me the latest company title. So I can't do what you're asking. I tried a hack of going through LinkedIn url and extracting the last 2 experiences. Not always accurate but works nevertheless

It performs an OR search and to get the people's past experience you can use 'Enrich Person' enrichment to get that person's full LinkedIn profile and that will include all their past experiences as well.
