Likely 🐛 when editing the options of a select-type field, I am unable to click-and-drag to select some of the type in the name of the option.
Clicking-and-dragging instead triggers drag-to-reorder on the options in the list.
This appears to be a user interface conflict where the drag-to-reorder functionality for options is interfering with text selection within option names. [1]
Are you experiencing this issue when trying to edit existing option names, or does it also happen when creating new options in your select-type field?
There is no separate interface for creating new options. Rather than creating and editing options in separate flows, users click a button to create a new option with a default name, then edit the name.
Thanks for clarifying the workflow. This confirms the UI conflict - the drag-to-reorder functionality for options is interfering with text selection when editing option names. [1]
Since you need to edit the default names after creating options, try these workarounds:
• Double-click the option name instead of click-and-drag to select text
• Use Ctrl+A (or Cmd+A on Mac) to select all text in the field
• Click at the start/end of the text and use Shift+arrow keys to select
This appears to be a bug where the reorder functionality is overriding normal text selection behavior. If these workarounds don't resolve the issue, please ask to speak to a human for further assistance.
You're absolutely right - this is a bug that should be reported. The drag-to-reorder functionality shouldn't interfere with text selection when editing option names. [1]
Since you need this documented for our development team, please ask to speak to a human who can properly log this UI conflict as a bug report for resolution. [2]
Thanks for reaching out to support. Could you try clicking the left panel with 6 little buttons and pulling it up/down from there, you should be able to move it like this
