Hello, I am new to Clay and I have some questions. I want to create a sheet with a long-list of companies that I will import into clay. As Step 1, I want to find the owners/CEOs of these companies with their email addresses and paste these in the sheet. I have tried it a couple times but the find people always opens in a new sheet and I cannot add the data into the original sheet since it is giving me an error message. What is the best strategy to fix this problem and populate only one sheet? Thank you!!
To keep everything in one sheet, use the "write to table" feature instead of Find People. After finding people via your enrichment columns, add a "write to table" enrichment column by clicking Add Column > Add Enrichment > Search and select "write to table". This lets you add the CEO/owner data directly to your existing company table rather than creating a new sheet. Alternatively, you can use our template that finds key decision makers and emails using company URLs - it keeps everything in one table automatically. Clay also automatically links Find Companies and Find People tables, allowing you to extract company attributes directly into your people data.
So I add the write to other table in the find people sheet? It is giving me an error when i add the columns i want to transfer to my "master sheet"
Yes, add "write to table" in your Find People sheet. The error you're seeing typically occurs due to: Common fixes: ** Invalid credentials: Check your Clay API key under Settings > Connections > Clay ** Data formatting: The value may not be formatted as a list - add it through the "Other data from this table" section instead ** Misconfigured sequence: Ensure you're not writing to deleted columns or tables that reference other tables *Steps to resolve: 1. Verify your API key is properly connected 2. Reconfigure your "write to table" integration 3. Double-check all destination columns exist in your master sheet Try these fixes and the data should transfer to your master sheet successfully.
