Suggestion: Automate Contact Selection for Company Decision-Makers

·
·

I don't know if there's such a feature already, but would be great if there was an option to select specific people from the same company when you import a list of contacts. Would be nice to have this fully automated so you can contact 2-3 decisionmakers at each company. So far, I've been doing this manually and it's always very time-consuming.

You can automate the selection of specific decision-makers from companies using Clay's Find People search features. Here's how: 1. When setting up your search parameters, you can use these filters: • Job Title Keywords to target specific roles (e.g., "Founder, Vice President") • Job Title Exclude Keywords to filter out unwanted positions • Company Identifier (LinkedIn URL, domain, or Sales Navigator URL) 2. To control the number of contacts per company: • Use the "Limit Results" feature to set an overall record limit • Set a per-company limit to control how many contacts you get from each organizationPro tip: Before importing your final list, use the "Preview People" button to review the search results and adjust your filters if needed. This helps ensure you're getting the right decision-makers before committing to the import. No I meant when you import a contacts list from Apollo that contains several decisionmakers in the same company

Hi Pablo, thanks for reaching out! I'm looking into this now. Just to clarify—are you referring to setting a per-company limit on a people search to ensure that outreach is focused only on contacts that fit your customer profile, avoiding excessive communication? Let me know if I got this right - happy to help you achieve this if that's the case!

not quite, I imported a list from apollo and some companies have several contacts. I used the de-dupe feature to remove companies that had like 50 employees with a similar job title. Would be nice to have like an automation clean that up for you and only select the 2-3 most senior positions for each company. Might be able to do that with claygent, but not sure.

Actually there's a way to do this! :) 1. Create a lookup for multiple rows within the same table to group all contacts by company domain. 2. Use the "Generate Content" AI feature to analyze the grouped data. 3. Write a prompt to rank the contacts using fields like /full_name and /job_title (make sure to reference the columns with a forward slash). Ask the AI to rank contacts based on seniority. You can provide a few examples in the prompt for clarity and run it. 4. Use table filter to filter the rank count to remove the values that are over 3 let's say. This will generate a seniority-based ranking for each contact, allowing you to easily identify and give you a way to sort the table to keep all the 2-3 most senior positions per company domain. We also have a similar (but different) way to give a number to all the variations of people inside of a company, see here Let me know if you'd like help setting this up!
