Tips for Handling Data Enrichment and Unifying Contact Lists

·
·

Hi I'm running into 2 issues consistently and would love tips:

  1. 1.

How can I run enrichments that don't break if all inputs aren't available? Example: People Data Labs enrichment is great with Linkedin, but can often enough find someone from company name, location and full name. But I have to make that 2 separate enrichment columns. In other tools I could just dynamically set the query in the API call.

  2. 2.

I have a list of companies. I'm looking for contacts by A) running multiple contact searches across tools and B) uploading csvs I have from private means (ex: conference list), How do I unify the this data into 1 contact table so I can enrich in 1 place? I find the data often overwrites other rows and columns and I have to spend a of time unifying all the names into 1 column.

Appreciate any and all assistance

For handling enrichments with incomplete inputs and unifying contact data, here are two key solutions: 1. For flexible enrichments: • Use AI formulas to create conditional logic for your enrichment workflows • Set up waterfall enrichment to search sequentially across multiple providers until you find valid matches • Configure enrichment columns to run only under specific conditions using formulas that trigger when certain criteria are met 2. For unifying contact data: • Use Clay's waterfall feature to search multiple enrichment tools in order for any given field of information - you'll only pay once a result is found • You can access data directly from 100+ external enrichment tools in our central, credit-based marketplace, including Hunter, Apollo, SalesNavigator, and more • This approach typically triples data coverage and quality by combining multiple data sources

Hi, this doesn't answer my question for multiple enrichments as using the same provider in the same waterfall is not allowed by clay.

For unifying contact data and managing multiple enrichments effectively: 1. To combine contacts in one table: • Use the "find contacts" search option in the enrichment tab • Select the option to save results into the company table • Set a limit of 1 result per company if needed • The contacts found will be automatically enriched and added to the same table 2. To prevent data overwrites and preserve existing data: • Before running new enrichments, use Lookup columns to pull existing data from your other tables or CRM • This helps avoid duplicate enrichments and preserves your existing data 3. For managing column dependencies: • First confirm your desired column order and dependencies • For new rows only, filter for those specific rows before running enrichments • This ensures new dependencies are applied without overwriting existing data Note: While you can't use the same provider multiple times in a single waterfall, you can maximize data coverage by using Lookup columns to combine data from different sources and running enrichments strategically on filtered views.
