Building a Company List Using Tech Stack Data: Tips & Workflows

·
·

Hey everyone! I’m still getting ramped up with Clay and had a quick question for the group. I’m looking to build a list of companies that use a specific tech stack, but I don’t yet have a seed list of companies to start with. I know Clay has the “Find Tech Stack” enrichment, but it seems like I need an existing list to run that on. Since the “Find Company” search is a bit limited in terms of filtering by tech (compared to something like ZoomInfo), I was wondering how others approach this. Would the best move be to first build a broader company list using other filters, enrich it with tech stack data, and then narrow down from there? Appreciate any tips or workflows you’ve found helpful!

To build a list of companies using a specific tech stack without a seed list, we recommend using our integration with HG Insights. Here's the workflow: 1. Use the "Find Companies by Tech Stack" feature powered by HG Insights. This allows you to discover companies using specific technologies or combinations of tools. 2. In the search, you can specify the exact tech stack you're interested in. For example, you could find companies using Salesforce but not Marketo, or those using both Workday and NetSuite. 3. Once you've created your initial list, you can further enrich it with additional tech stack data and firmographics using HG Insights. 4. If needed, you can also use other integrations like Apollo.io, Clearbit, or PredictLeads to further enrich your data. This approach allows you to start directly with tech stack data, bypassing the limitations of the general "Find Company" search.
