I have searched for companies and then specific people. I was able to find the individuals along with their email addresses, LinkedIn URLs, and other details.
However, I’ve noticed an issue: the LinkedIn URL Clay provided links to the wrong person.
For example, the person I searched for is Andreas Fredriksson, who works at a company called Entry Point. In Clay, the LinkedIn URL returned was:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/andreas-fredriksson-trafik/
But this profile belongs to a different Andreas Fredriksson who works at another company.
The correct Andreas Fredriksson is this profile:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/andreas-fredriksson-12784a13/
How can this mismatch happen, and how does Clay ensure that the LinkedIn profile is matched to the correct person?
This mismatch can happen because our people search algorithms match based on available data points like name and company information, but sometimes there are multiple people with the same name.
To improve accuracy, you can provide additional inputs when searching for people. Including the company name along with the person's name helps our system better match the correct profile.
For future searches, try using our RB2B integration which allows you to input first name, last name, and company domain to return the most accurate profile URL. [1] [2]
The more specific information you provide (like exact company details), the better our matching becomes. Unfortunately, no system is 100% perfect when dealing with common names across different companies.
