When I try to run an enrichment through the crunchbase integration, it says "Required auth missing". Does that mean I need my own CB account to use this?
No, you don't need your own Crunchbase account to use this integration. You can pay with Clay credits to access most of our data enrichment tools without any outside accounts. [1]
If you do already have an active Crunchbase subscription, you can use it in Clay for free by using your API keys, but this is optional.
The "Required auth missing" error might be a temporary issue. Try using Sculptor (our built-in AI tool in the top-right corner) to help set up your Crunchbase enrichment workflow - it's free to use and can help troubleshoot setup issues.
Is that what you were looking for?
Yes “Required auth missing” means you need to connect your own Crunchbase API key before the enrichment will run. Clay does not provide shared Crunchbase access because CB requires every user to use their own paid API credentials. Once you add your Crunchbase API key under Integrations → Crunchbase, the enrichment will work normally.
Actually, you don't need your own Crunchbase account to use our Crunchbase integration. We provide API keys for certain enrichments, and you can pay with Clay credits to access most of our data enrichment tools without any outside accounts. [1]
When running enrichments, we provide Clay-managed accounts for many integrations, though you can save credits by using your own account if you have one. [2]
If you're still seeing the "Required auth missing" error, try using Sculptor (our built-in AI tool in the top-right corner) to help set up your Crunchbase enrichment workflow - it's free to use and can help troubleshoot setup issues. [3]

Sculptor re-directs me to support, who insist that crunchbase access is not included in the plan. But the documentation and this chat says otherwise.
I understand this is frustrating, so I’ll connect you with a human agent who can clarify this for you.
