Clay Chrome Extension: Troubleshooting Stuck Loading & Creating New Recipe

I installed the Clay Chrome extension, but it’s stuck loading, and I am not able to create a new recipe. I searched the Slack history and docs. This is a new install of the extension. Are there any set up steps required beyond the install?

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out! Happy to check this out, what site are you trying to create a recipe for? Some sites may have scraping restrictions and could cause this issue but will check

Thanks. Seems like more of an issue loading the extension altogether. Here’s what it looks like on YCombinator site used in the video demo.

Interesting! I've only seen this issue before once but I believe the person mentioned that it was another extension or some blocker not allowing the tool to run, only until they removed it then it worked

Not very clear as to what the actual cause is in this case though. I'll add Colin P. in case he has some time soon for some ideas of what may be the likely cause of it

Cool. It’s not urgent. I used another scraper as a work around. I’ll try disabling another other extensions.

I think the issue is with the 1Password extension. I disabled it and Clay is working.

Jim P. glad it's working now - please let us know if you see more issues! the extension was deprioritized over the past year, but we have it in our big goals this year to begin ramping up / updating / making the extension more powerful, so any issues you see are helpful 🙂

Sounds good. I did run into an issue using the Beta feature that enriches a company table by scraping web pages with a specific recipe/url pattern. I’ll try to set up a test for you.
