Got error message in find people function. Why did the list got from almost 2k people to 50 when limiting to only 4 people per company? They're are 620 companies.
This is expected behavior when applying per-company limits in Find People. The limit of 4 people per company restricts results to a maximum of 4 contacts from each company, regardless of how many total people are available. With 620 companies × 4 people per company, you'd expect around 2,480 results maximum. Getting only 50 suggests that most companies in your list don't have 4 people matching your search criteria - they may have fewer available contacts that meet your filters. The preview count shows total available people before limits are applied, but the final import reflects the per-company restrictions you've set.
If I type 1 person per company no change to total number of contacts. 50 people.
Here's the table^^^
Hey Adam! Not sure if that was the right link - could you clarify your issue and table link? Happy to dive in!
Hari K. Hey there. Here's the link to the table https://app.clay.com/workspaces/507736/workbooks/wb_0szv2luxXUbsormVAYw/tables/t_0szv63gyxKs7G4Wa3aG/views/gv_0szv63v2XgRwcgqxvcB when i was in preview mode for find people, when i changed the max number of people per company to 4 i got a return of 50 people. When i changed it to 1 person per company, it said preview of 50 people. It did not say 50 of x number showing. it looks like i got 1 person per company. Can i go back to the find people and increase the number to 5 max per company and rerun it?
Hey Adam! Yes, this is possible by right clicking on the column header and selecting "edit source" and then "edit inputs" in the pane that appears. I've attached a screengrab of this below:
Hope this helps!
Of course!
i'm a little surprised that after setting the max to 6 people per company i only have 753 contacts for 630 company names.
If I were to change the max number of contacts per company to 10 will it duplicate contacts or only add new ones? However, increasing the number of contacts to 10 after already changing it to 6 shouldn't matter since no company is listed with 6 contacts...
Hey Adam! I just took a look and I think this is likely because of your job titles - I would recommend adding the written out versions as well (e.g. for HR also add Human Resources) To answer your second question, I believe it shouldn't provide any duplicate results. However, worst case you can use the "De-Dupe" function for free on any column to remove any duplicate rows in 1 click. Hope this helps!
