Clay S. can you please help? I connected my email to the Clay Sequencer to send out emails natively from my table. Once I connected the account, I noticed two random emails going out from my Outlook to email ID's that are not in my email list or any of my Clay tables. It feels like connecting my account to the sequencer caused this. Can you please let me know if something like this happened to anyone else, and also verify/ensure that the Microsoft OAuth process for the sequencer is secure? Thanks!
The random emails you're seeing are likely warmup emails from our email sequencer. [1] When you enable warmup, our system automatically sends and receives emails from your linked account to build sender reputation.
Each account uses a unique two-word keyphrase (like clever-rocket) to identify these warmup messages. You can set up a label and filter in your email client to automatically ignore these warmup messages.
Regarding security, our OAuth implementation follows best practices including OAuth 2.0, HTTPS encryption, short-lived access tokens, CSRF protection, and minimum necessary permissions. [2]
If you need further help, just ask to speak with a human.
The warmup emails are sent between Clay accounts using the same unique keyphrase system - they're not sent to random real people or external email addresses. [1] The system sends and receives automated emails within our network to build your sender reputation, so you don't need to worry about bothering actual prospects or strangers.
