Hi team, Im really worried for the innacurarrcy of the find people function, it adds job titles not in the search and not all of them that show up in linkedin, is there a way to make it more accurate? It seems the “linkedin” scraping tool is old and not working
To improve the accuracy of your "Find People" searches, review and adjust your search filters carefully. When configuring your people search, use specific job title filters rather than broad terms. For more precise results, try combining multiple filters like job titles with other parameters such as bio keywords, experience level, or location to narrow down your search. If you're still experiencing inaccuracies, you may need to further investigate and refine your search parameters.
Hi Juan, Thank you for reaching out to the support team, there are a few things to note about our find people search that I'll try and clarify here. Our Find People search uses syntactic matching, which means it looks for the exact words or phrases you enter—this is also known as phrase matching. It doesn’t automatically understand variations of job titles or related terms unless you specifically include them in your search. Here are some practical ways to refine your search and improve your results: What This Means for Your Search: ** If you type VP, the search won’t automatically include results like Vice President unless you explicitly add those variations. ** Since the search is based on phrase matching, it will only look for the exact phrase you enter, so you need to list all possible variations of the titles you’re interested in. For example, if you're looking for executive roles, you should include both CEO and Chief Executive Officer in your search, as they might be listed differently in people's profiles. ** When looking for roles like cofounder, be sure to include variations like Cofounder, Co-Founder, and Co Founder. Our search tool treats these variations similarly, but listing them helps ensure comprehensive results. ** Adding quotation marks around your search terms does not help expand your results. Quotation marks will only limit the search to the exact phrase, which can restrict your results unnecessarily. ** Case sensitivity does not affect the search, meaning that the tool will find results regardless of whether you use uppercase or lowercase letters. Tips to Get Better Results: ** Include Variations of Job Titles: To make sure you’re capturing all relevant profiles, include as many variations of the job title as possible. For example, if you’re searching for leadership roles in engineering, use variations like VP Engineering, Vice President Engineering, and Director of Engineering. It's generally more effective to use variations without of when possible. For example, VP Engineering will also capture results for VP of Engineering, but Vice President of Engineering might not be as inclusive as Vice President Engineering. ** Be Specific and Precise: Avoid using overly broad terms like Engineering if you're specifically looking for narrower roles such as VP of Engineering. The more specific your search terms are, the more relevant and accurate your results will be. ** Use the Industry Filter Effectively: You can find a comprehensive list of LinkedIn industry names here. Using these industry names ensures you’re filtering for the exact sectors relevant to your search. ** Consider Not Selecting "Seniority" Filters: The *seniority filter can sometimes limit your results too much by excluding profiles that might still be relevant.
Other Things to Note: 1. Be Aware of Search Limits: The tool might show you a high number of potential matches but will only import a limited number of profiles due to system restrictions/your subscription. 2. *Consider Privacy Restrictions: Some profiles may not show up in your results due to privacy settings, even if you can view them directly on platforms like LinkedIn when logged in.
Munnawar Hashim (Clay) Hi look this is the source and Il share some result that I got that aren’t relevant. AR Manager and so on
Manager external reporting?
I shared it with our account manager in the past but honeslty it is very time consuming to clean every list going one by one
Hey, Feel free to send over the table so we can take a closer look. Usually, when the results include people outside your target roles, it’s because the job title filters weren’t set strictly enough or the exact keywords weren’t fully applied. Double-check that the titles you’re searching for are clearly defined in the filter. I’m happy to help you fine-tune it for better accuracy.
okok got it
thanks!
