Hi team - I was concerned as one person I was looking for wasn't coming up when searching (Andrew Rook, CIO at Simplify). It looks like the seniority filter, excludes him from the search even if all boxes are checked (this was just a test). He comes up when no filters are checked. Seems to be a logic issue? This sounds like a filtering logic issue. When you have seniority filters active, Clay applies those criteria even when all boxes are checked - it's still filtering based on how our system categorizes seniority levels. [1]
The "CIO" title might not be mapped to the specific seniority categories you have selected, or there could be an issue with how that particular profile is classified in our database.
Try running the search with just the job title filter for "CIO" without any seniority filters to see if Andrew appears. You can also use the "Job title must contain exact" option to search specifically for "CIO" titles. [2]

It's not a job title issue, I'm filtering for seniority across multiple different personas CFO, CEO, CIO, CTO, Managing Partner all show up, so I'm concerned why Andrew doesn't
Even if other CIO/CTO/etc. results show up, one specific person can drop out once you apply organizational level / seniority because the filter relies on how a profile’s role is categorized, not just the visible title string. [1]
A couple of quick ways to sanity-check that it’s classification (not your query):
Add specific titles (e.g., “CIO”) and try Job title must contain exact to force literal title matching (this excludes synonyms/similar titles). [2]
Compare results with seniority on vs. off while keeping the exact-title setting constant.

i don't want exact titles as this will filter out too many people (who have slight title nuances). A CIO should be in the C-suite filter, how is this not the case?
A “CIO” title isn’t guaranteed to land in the C-suite seniority filter, because organizational level is based on how the role is categorized in our underlying data, not just the visible title string. [1] So it’s possible Andrew’s profile is currently classified outside the C-suite bucket, even if other CIOs are classified as C-suite.
Another common reason is data freshness: Find People relies on third-party providers and can be ~2–3 weeks behind, so recent title/role changes can affect what the seniority filter returns.
If you want broad title matching (not exact), use the standard Job title filter (which includes synonyms/similar titles) and layer other constraints like company attributes instead of forcing exact-match titles. [2]
