Hi support team, I'm getting a notification when running Million Verifier via API that the IP address is blocked
The "IP address blocked" error you're seeing is coming from Million Verifier's API, not from our platform. A 200 status code indicates that our system successfully sent the request to Million Verifier, but Million Verifier is returning an error because they've blocked your IP address. [1]
This type of IP blocking is typically implemented by the third-party service (Million Verifier) for security or rate limiting purposes. You'll need to contact Million Verifier directly to resolve the IP blocking issue on their end.
Could you copy and paste the JSON response you're receiving so we can help troubleshoot any formatting issues on our side?
If you still need help troubleshooting the API response or any related issues, I’m here to assist. Would you like to provide more details about what you’re trying to resolve or understand?
thank you - are there any workarounds while waiting for MV to get back to me?
While waiting for Million Verifier to resolve the IP block, you could try using an alternative email verification provider. Hunter's Email Verifier is available in our integrations and can validate email addresses by checking syntax, domain information, and mailbox existence. [1]
To add it, create a new enrichment column and select Hunter's Email Verifier from the available integrations. This would let you continue verifying emails while Million Verifier addresses the IP blocking issue on their end.
If you need help setting this up, let me know!
Did that answer your question?
If you need any further assistance with setting up the alternative verifier or have other questions, I’m here to help. Would you like to share more about what you’re trying to achieve or any other issues you’re facing?
I'm not sure it makes sense that this is about my own IP - I have tried resetting my router and using a hotspot and the IP isn't working for any of them. Others have told me this is about Clay's server being rejected from Million Verifier
You're correct that this could be related to our servers rather than your personal IP address. When using integrations through our platform, the API requests are made from our infrastructure, not your local connection.
Our API maintains 99.9% uptime and handles requests at approximately 10 per second (or 20 per second in bursts), but third-party services like Million Verifier may implement their own IP blocking or rate limiting policies that could affect our server requests.
Can you copy and paste the complete JSON response you're receiving from the Million Verifier integration so we can analyze the specific error details?
{ "free": false, "role": false, "email": "\"mboston@alamedahealthsystem.org\"", "error": "IP address blocked", "result": "error", "credits": 0, "livemode": true, "subresult": "", "didyoumean": "", "resultcode": 4, "executiontime": 6 }
The JSON response confirms this is an IP blocking issue from Million Verifier's side affecting our servers. The "resultcode 4" and "IP address blocked" error indicates Million Verifier has implemented restrictions on our infrastructure's IP addresses.
Since this is a third-party service blocking our servers, you can try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the view to see if this resolves any display issues with the error messages. However, the core IP blocking will need to be addressed by Million Verifier directly.
As mentioned earlier, Hunter's Email Verifier remains your best alternative while this gets resolved.
Have you tried clicking into the specific cell showing this error to see if there are any additional error details that might help us understand the full scope of the issue?
Is it possible to escalate this to a human
