Troubleshooting Google Analytics Data Mapping Issues with Chrome Extension

Β·
Β·

hi folks! I have a google analytics page that I am trying to map out with the Chrome extension. I am able to select the data (not sure if this is applicable but there Google analytics page is set up with iframes), however when I try and adjust the URLs to match the recipe - the extension is not saving my changes. here is an example URL: https://lookerstudio.google.com/embed/reporting/68ff7f32-fd1b-4af5-8afc-f8b5179e6fe9/page/1M?params=%7B%22df26%22:%22include%25EE%2580%25800%25EE%2580%2580PT%25EE%2580%2580reislandgirl.com%22,%22df25%22:%22include%25EE%2580%25800%25EE%2580%2580IN%25EE%2580%2580mobile%25EE%2580%2580tablet%25EE%2580%2580desktop%22%7D The domain is: lookerstudio.google.com But the Path Pattern I want to match is: embed/reporting/68ff7f32-fd1b-4af5-8afc-f8b5179e6fe9/page/1M?params=%7B%22df26%22:%22include%25EE%2580%25800%25EE%2580%2580PT%25EE%2580%2580:Listingdomain (:Listingdomain is the name of the column in the clay table: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/31186/tables/t_DdmpYuGhxHPV/views/gv_ehp3hoGqR6Xz) Also, after selecting the Data - when I go to the View Data tab I do not have the option to export/add the recipe to my Workspace. I only see this feature for the Autodetected Lists and not the Recipe that I created.

Hi Samantha, Thank you for reaching out. Accessing data from Looker Studio reports can be challenging due to the time it takes for data to load. Our data providers have a 10-second limit, which may cause issues even if the data is mapped correctly. To extract data from a Looker Studio report via an API, you can use the Looker Studio API. This API allows you to search for and manage Looker Studio assets. However, it’s important to note that the API is available only to users within a Google Workspace or Cloud Identity organization. (Google Developers) If you have access to the Looker Studio API, you can follow these steps: 1. Enable the Looker Studio API: In the Google API Console, enable the Looker Studio API for your project. 2. Create an OAuth Client: Set up an OAuth client ID in the Google API Console to obtain the necessary credentials. 3. Authorize the App: Use the Google Admin console to authorize the app for your organization. 4. Obtain Access Tokens: Use OAuth 2.0 to obtain access tokens for authenticating API requests. 5. Use the API: With the access tokens, you can make API calls to retrieve data from your Looker Studio reports. For detailed instructions, refer to the Looker Studio API documentation. (Google Developers) If you don’t have access to the Looker Studio API, you might consider alternative methods, such as exporting data directly from the report or using other tools that integrate with Looker Studio. I hope this helps! If you have more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
