Hey team, would like an update about an issue I raised last week about GPT-5 mini
We recently launched GPT-5 as a model option across Clay, which is now available in Claygent for research tasks, our formula generator, and metaprompter features. [1] However, there isn't a "GPT-5 mini" model - our GPT-5 integration includes the full GPT-5 model for enhanced research precision and formula generation quality.
To help track down your specific issue, could you share more details about what problem you encountered with GPT-5 last week?
The GPT-5 mini runs we had recently changed from using "medium" reasoning to "minimal" reasoning, as seen in our OpenAI platform logs. There is no option to change this parameter inside clay, and we need the reasoning to get high-quality outputs
Clay integrates the full GPT-5 model, not GPT-5 mini. The reasoning parameter you're seeing in your OpenAI logs isn't controlled within Clay's interface - our GPT-5 integration uses OpenAI's standard implementation for Claygent research, formula generation, and metaprompter features.
However, we do offer reasoning budget controls for Claude models through our "Configure Reasoning Budget" feature. For GPT-5 specifically, the reasoning behavior is managed by OpenAI's API directly rather than through Clay's interface.
Did that answer your question?
Nope

I've already reached out about this issue inside clay, but hoping I could get someone who has technical access to talk to about this
We haven't heard back from you here, so we're going to go ahead and close this thread out.
