Hi team, I'm trying to source contacts based on a list of companies (Linkedin Urls). I included the job titles that you see on my screenshot. But weirdly enough, I get a Head of Research and Insights which doesn't make any sense when I look at my query. Is this a bug on your side ?
When sourcing contacts based on LinkedIn URLs and job titles, our system searches for keywords in the person's job title. It's possible that the "Head of Research and Insights" result is appearing due to partial matches with your specified keywords. To refine your results and exclude irrelevant job titles, you can use the "Job Title Exclude Keywords" feature. This allows you to specify keywords that shouldn't be in the person's job title, helping to filter out unwanted results. Can you share the specific job title keywords you used in your search? This will help me provide more targeted advice on how to improve your query.
Here are the job titles I included:
Marketing Operations Manager
Chief Operating Officer
Sales Operations Manager
Operations Manager (General)
I did do any regex (include/exclude keyword) that's why I'm surprised.
When searching for contacts using job titles, our system looks for keyword matches within people's job titles. Without using the "Job Title Exclude Keywords" feature, you might get partial matches that include roles containing any of your specified keywords. To get more precise results matching only your desired job titles, you should: 1. Use the "Job Title Exclude Keywords" parameter to filter out unwanted titles 2. Be more specific with your job title keywords 3. Consider using exact phrases for the roles you want For example, if you only want operations-related roles, you could add keywords like "Research" and "Insights" to the Job Title Exclude Keywords field to prevent those results from appearing.
Hey Noufel - I recorded this walkthrough video showing exactly how to set this up: https://cln.sh/CxgPfHVC Let me know if you have any follow-up questions! P.S. When you see this, feel free to right-click on the row > leave feedback so our team can fix this as well! :)
Hey Bo, thanks for taking the time to record a video. I didn't want to click on exact keyword match so that I can get lookalike jobs. But then was surprised to see a Head of Research and Insights be in a search which involved only people working in Operations. Next time I'll be more specific by making an exact keyword match search.
Thanks for the follow-up. I can see how that association might not make sense, depending on the context! Before closing out here, I also wanted to mention we can always report on individual datapoints that don't fit. You'll just want to right-click the cell, then select Leave Feedback:
That will help improve search results in the future, and we can report back to our data providers on incorrect/invalid/improperly formatted/wrongly categorized data β if we don't catch it first! Thanks again for taking the time to share this.
Great, thanks Mark!
You're welcome! Please keep in touch as new items come up. :)
