Is there still an A/B test of limiting or restriciting copy and paste? I used to be able to easily copy and paste values in bulk (column by columns for example - find contact email -> copy -> paste into contact email column) and no longer am able to unless I click into each individual cell. I might just be missing something obvious, but would like a more simple way to transfer returned data than having to use action items/copy to table/etc.
Yes, there's currently an A/B test blocking CSV exports and copy/paste for trial users to reduce spam and encourage using integrations instead.
However, Clay still supports bulk copy-paste operations - you can copy large amounts of data across many rows, and when you select multiple cells and paste, it should fill all selected cells. [1]
Try selecting the entire column or range of cells first, then pasting. If you're still having issues with bulk operations, the "Send table data" feature under Exports might be a good alternative for transferring data between tables. [2]
Is that what you were looking for?
If you still need help with bulk copy-pasting or transferring data, I’m here to assist. Would you like to provide more details about what you’re trying to achieve so I can support you better?
No. I am not a trial user, and I have tried those workflows and they do not work. It previously allowed bulk copy and paste via CMD C/V and/or selecting copy/paste via dropdown menu, and then paste and overwrite, and it long longer functions. Send Table data is not sufficient.
I'm sorry to hear that the bulk copy-paste feature isn't working as expected. I'll connect you to a human agent who can assist you further with this issue.
thanks intercom

Hey,
You’re not missing anything. This isn’t an A/B test and it’s not related to being on a trial.
What’s changed is how rows are loaded in the table. Only the rows that are actively loaded in the viewport can be copied and pasted in bulk right now (300) That usually caps out around a few hundred rows. Anything beyond that isn’t fully loaded in the client, so bulk CMD-C / CMD-V won’t work the way it used to.
This is something we’re actively reworking, but there isn’t an immediate fix yet. For now, action-based flows like Send Table Data or writing values into a new column are the only reliable ways to move large amounts of data across columns.
Let me know if you have more questions.
dang ok, makes sense. i am only working with like 50-60 rows so is there any reason i wouldn't be able to copy and paste those? assuming that i can not copy content that has been returned from an action column?
Hey,
With 50–60 rows, you should be able to copy and paste as long as those rows are fully loaded in the table. Returned values from action or enrichment columns are copyable, there’s no restriction there.
If it’s not working, it’s usually tied to how the cells are being selected or whether the rows are actually loaded in view.
Can you send the table URL where this is happening? I can check it on my side and confirm what’s going on.
Let me know if you have more questions.
I am likely making a mistake on the rows being fully loaded then, because neither cmd or selecting from menu is working for me
I recorded this walkthrough video showing exactly how to set this up:

thanks!
just a sanity check, am i doing this wrong here? https://www.loom.com/share/0b546180e66a43d2869eab8b813efa55 i am able to copy similar to the video you sent, however, when i try to paste i am no longer able to paste/overwrite this way
