Hey, what is the best way to understand how many people are in a particular department - I.E. the compliance team and if that team grows send an alert
Steps:
Create a table with company identifiers
Add the employee count enrichment, filtering by "compliance" roles
Set up a "Monitor for new hires" Signal with compliance job title filters
Configure alert frequency in Signal settings
You can also use Custom Signals to monitor specific compliance hiring patterns. [3]

thanks, there are quite a few duplicate people in the new hires signal (they have the same name, linkedin url, start date and job title. how to fix
Enable auto-dedupe on your Signal table. Click the Auto-dedupe button at the bottom-right of your table, toggle on "Enable automatic deduplication," then select LinkedIn URL as your dedupe column.
This will automatically remove duplicates based on LinkedIn URL matches and keep your table clean going forward. [1]
Alternatively, you can manually dedupe by right-clicking the LinkedIn URL column header and selecting Dedupe > Delete Duplicate Row. [2]
Did that answer your question?
If you need any more help with deduplication or managing your new hires signal, please let me know. Would you like to share more about the specific issues you're encountering or any other features you're trying to use?
for the Get Employee Count by Criteria enrichment, it doesn't appear to give the option to predefine a job role such as working in compliance. And when adding in a job role filter such as 'finance' and removing it, the finance filter comes back with more results. But the job role filter should have less in it?
You can specify job roles in the Role Filter field - just type "compliance" or other roles directly. [1]
The counter-intuitive results you're seeing (more results when adding filters) might be due to how People Data Labs processes the criteria. Try clicking the cog icon next to the Role Filter to see if there are additional configuration options that could help refine your search. [2]
For compliance specifically, you might also consider using the "Find Employee Headcount by Criteria" enrichment which offers more granular job title filtering options. [3]
