Hey, I'm trying to import a list of 70 people into a clay table but whenever i paste the list into a column, it only pastes 38 entries. No matter what I do, it's giving me the same problem.
This issue is likely related to your account type and table limits. Trial and free accounts are limited to 50 rows per table, which could explain why you're only seeing 38 entries instead of your full list of 70 people. [1]
If you're on a paid plan, tables can hold up to 50,000 rows, so the limit shouldn't be an issue.
To troubleshoot this further, try ensuring your data is properly formatted - use UTF-8 encoded files with comma-separated values, and make sure there are no "created at" or "updated at" columns in your data.
If you're still experiencing issues after checking your account type and data formatting, you can request human assistance by clicking on "Talk to a person" for more detailed troubleshooting.
Did that answer your question?
I'm on a paid plan and I am manually pasting the rows. (selecting the rows from a csv file and pasting them into a clay table).
When manually pasting data into Clay, you might encounter issues that don't occur with the standard CSV import process. [1]
Instead of pasting, try using the proper CSV import method:
Click Actions > Import > Import from CSV
Upload your CSV file
Select Add to current table
Map the columns and click Add to table [2]
If you still want to paste manually, ensure your CSV data is UTF-8 encoded with comma-separated values. You can also try uploading your data to a Google Sheet first, then downloading it again as a CSV before importing.
The formal import process is more reliable than manual pasting for larger datasets.

If you still need help with importing your list into the table, I’m here to assist. Would you like to provide more details about what you’re trying to resolve or understand?
If your import is stuck at 34%, try a hard refresh first:
Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R
Mac: Cmd + Shift + R
Large imports can take time—the progress bar shows completion across all rows in the table, even those not currently visible. [1] If it remains stuck after refreshing, there may be a processing issue with your specific import.
If the refresh doesn't resolve it, please click "Talk to a person" for further assistance.

Hi Syeda - thanks so much for reaching out and for your patience here. When you manually paste the rows, what are you seeing on your end? Are you seeing "Paste and overwrite"?
Yes, I am
