I just ran a simple waterfall work email enrichment on a table and am experiencing what I believe are some errors. Many of my rows are finding an email in an early step in the waterfall, but then continuing to search subsequent waterfall sources and using additional credits to find an already retrieved email. In many cases the email was found in an early waterfall step, but then it also found several times again in the steps ahead. This causes 10-15 credits to be used instead of only a few for the first source that successfully found the email. Also, many of these do not merge the email into the final column. Here's a screenshot example. Something seems wrong here. Am I missing something?
Hey neema naficy, You’re right — once an email is found in the waterfall, it should stop instead of running extra steps and using more credits. If emails aren’t merging into the final column, that’s also not expected. I’m helping you sort this out ✅ Please DM me the details and I’ll assist directly.
Sorry for the confusion—There isn't any bugs/double charge When an email is found, we automatically run a validation step to check its accuracy. These validation columns are hidden by default to keep your table clean, but you can reveal them by selecting "Show All Columns" - this lets you review the email validation status directly.
Each time you try to find an email, we reach out to our providers. If they return a result, that counts as successful and credits are used. From there we send it to a second provider for the validation step. Since they're two individual providers and both can't know in advance what a provider will return, we can't avoid this charge. What we do to prevent further credit costs is once an email has been found by the first provider and marked invalid by the second provider, we won't re-validate the same one because we add this email in the formulas for the other validations downstream. If another finder step runs afterward, it will only validate if it receives a new, different email. This helps avoid duplicate charges wherever possible. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
