hey, i’m getting different results when I use a linkedin salesnav search in-app vs when I use the salesnav URL within clay. Clay is giving me a much larger list of leads that looks less focused than the list I intended to ingest
Clay imports up to 2,500 results per Sales Navigator URL, which may exceed what you see in-app. Sales Navigator limits views to 2.5k leads or 100 pages, but our data partners can access the full dataset. To get more focused results, split your Sales Nav search using specific filters like headcount numbers, seniority levels, or location, then import separate URLs. Ensure you're using a People Search URL (not Company Search) and that your filters don't contain saved Lead Lists from your personal account.
not really
Hey there Mikey thanks for reaching out, what exactly are you seeing with the Sales Nav search here?
i’m specifically looking for Companies:
with 500-5k employees
20+ people with title of customer success manager
People:
“Changed Jobs” per the LINKEDIN flag.
A variety of titles
Linkedin gives me 147 results. The same URL in Clay was giving me 680 results… I’m not sure how to do this in Clay. I didn’t see the same filters, and also was exxpecting to only use 150 credits for the initial upload, but that drained 680
Hey there Mikey, to confirm here was this a custom list you saved, that met the specific criteria you were looking for or was this overall that Sales Nav returned, without manually selecting specific records. To clarifying the way this feature is used is you'll go create your search in Sales Nav and then copy that link and place it inside of Clay. However if this is a saved search Where you selected a handful of the results from the overall given then this will be respected. For example if you had a search staff found 20 results but we only saved 10 of those and then we tried using this link our sales net feature still going to fall to the original 20 that were found and not the 10 that were selected because the provider doesn't have access to your LinkedIn account so it's not gonna be able to read or extract custom or save lists.
got it. i was using a custom account but it sounds like you can’t use that list?
any idea how to accomplish this then? basically i want to contacts with a specific job title, new to their role in past 90 days, at companies with 200-5k and 20+ total customer success managers My initial approach was:
Use Apollo to find accounts with 20+ Customer Success Managers
Upload that list to Sales Nav
Search for people in those companies with the specified titles i need, that had a recent “Job Change” (according to Linkedin Salesnav)
Is there a way to do this efficiently in Clay?
Thanks for your patience here Mikey. To do this within Clay, you can follow a workflow like so Company Filtering > Job changes signal > Find People. Instead of using Apollo to filter companies and Sales Navigator to find recent job changes, you can do it locally within Clay if you'd like. Start by filtering companies in Clay based on size, department makeup, and other firmographics in a "Find Company" search. Then, use Clay’s job change detection to identify people who’ve recently switched roles - within the past 90 days - without needing Sales Navigator. From there, you can apply title and seniority filters, enrich contacts with verified data, and send them to Apollo or your outreach tool. Let me know if that makes sense.
