Streamlining Outbound Targeting: Seeking London Employee Data Solutions

·
·

Hey everyone – I’m trying to solve a bottleneck that’s slowing down our outbound targeting, and would love some advice. A key data point for us is the number of employees based in London (not just UK-wide), and whether the company has a London office. What’s not working:

  • Clay’s “Employees by Criteria” often misses a large chunk of London-based staff — when cross-checked with LinkedIn, it’s way off.

  • People Data Labs only provides UK-wide filtering (not city-specific), and data is often skewed by other office locations.

My current workaround:

  • I use a Clay formula to automatically append ?facetGeoRegion=90009496 to the end of each company’s LinkedIn URL to pull up the “People in London” view.

  • Then, I run Browserflow to scrape the number of associated members from that LinkedIn view.

It works, but:

  • I have to export the data from Clay

  • It runs in the background and needs regular checks

  • It’s slow and hard to scale across hundreds of companies

What I’m trying to do:

  • Build a more scalable, integrated solution to pull the London headcount directly into Clay

  • I’m currently exploring Apify to run this within a Clay-connected spreadsheet, but I’m stuck on implementation

  • I’ve heard Apollo might have this data — has anyone used Apollo for location-specific headcount at a city level?

Would love any ideas, workflows, or tool suggestions that could help bring this data into Clay automatically. Big thanks in advance!

Hey Dominic M. you are some pretty advanced stuff there! Sure this is super easy in apollo if you are just after approx for lead qualification stuff. Apollo doesnt count by office but does list office locations then you just might need to clean up and normalize location ie city/state for the leads you pull and run your count and thats it

I feel I've missed something as sure you've thought of that already!

So I would just specifically need people who are based in London. It’s our core market so don’t need anywhere else. Do I need to pay for Apollo
