Hi all, Enriching HubSpot with Clay intergation is such a great use case. Pushing companies/contacts to HS and identifying them in a list is simple via the record source & record source detail properties for newly created records.
How to you identify "updated" HS records? e.g. Company ABC has been updated and enriched in 2 properties (e.g. Linkedin Page and a custom property) via Clay.
How can you build an active list of these companies? Would like to use these for reporting further down the line. Thanks in advance!
I like to add a "Last Enriched by Clay" date property that is updated.. this date property can then be used for reporting, lists etc.
A custom timestamp property- updated from Clay directly? And do you have a property saying “what” data was enriched?”
I do this by adding a formula column in clay that just pulls in the current date time, then pass that back to HS as the "last enriched" date.
There is a column in clay by default that you can sync as last enriched.. it is the updated at column ( usually hidden)
I guess if you wanted to get wild you could do some kind of multiselect picklist and have some formula to mark the fields clay is updating as "true" but that feels like a lot of work. If I ever put companies (or contacts) into another clay table, I just always pull in all properties and set run conditions to limit any additional column runs/enrichments if I have previously found a certain value. Sometimes I'll have that set in combination with the last enriched date so certain things run again on a regular cadence.
I don;t see a need to say what data was enriched Boelens B., as that will be in the properties already.. although no reason you can't create a multi-line summary property updated via Clay
Thanks Jonathan P. and Joe B. Really helpfull. No indeed, saying what data was enriched is over-engineering it.
Petra H. anything to add? Would like to know about your experience here.
Hey! Totally agree with everything mentioned above. We always set up custom fields like “Last Clay Enrichment Date” and keep them updated with the latest enrichment. At the moment, this experience on Clay is not super intuitive when you have multiple tables because you have to remember to set this up on every table, but hopefully soon this will be improved. No need to flag which data was enriched by Clay either, you can just check the property history to see that info. We did set up an audit log field once for a client who wanted to track every change with timestamps, but that was just because they were super particular about it. In most cases, it’s not necessary.
