Seems like I have the option to enter a table Id for lookup, but then I can’t select a column, so I get an error
It seems you're encountering an issue with the Google Sheets integration or the Lookup Rows action. Here's how to resolve it: 1. For Google Sheets: • Ensure you've selected the correct Google account. • After pasting the spreadsheet URL, specify the Sheet ID. • Then, you should be able to select the Lookup Column and Value. 2. For Lookup Rows: • Select the Table to Search. • Choose the Target Column. • Set the Filter Operator. • Enter the Row Value. If you're still unable to select a column, there might be a technical issue. In that case, click on "Talk to a person" to request human assistance for further troubleshooting.
This is not a Google sheets issue. This is a problem with Clay -> Lookup Single Row in Other Table
Hey Ken, thnks for getting in touch. Do you mind sending the link (url) to the table so we can take a look?
I tried to replicate in my test account, but selecting the table using its ID is working okay for me:
Curious to dig in and compare!
Hey Mark - this is when using a field, not from typing it manually. Idea being that I could use a field and have it look up against multiple tables based on difference criteria
Ah, thanks for that! I see what you're saying now. I wish this was supported today. When entering those tokens in column settings, Clay doesn't take the additional step to interpret/resolve them to e.g. a specific table ID value. If it did, I can see a further downstream challenge – understanding which columns to check in the destination tables, for each of the possible table values that token would represent. I can share internal product feedback for this. I'm curious – could you let me know any specific use cases or workflows or challenges, where these updates would be especially helpful for you? Just trying to keep a tidier table / reduce ~redundant columns? I'll relay this to our product owners. Any additional context is welcome, so we can keep your situation in mind as we build out the roadmap.
