Trying to create a new signal to monitor companies for news. I'm using a list of companies from an existing Clay table. I can start the workflow and select companies from a Clay table, but after clicking "Next," it does not progress past the first step. It keeps returning to the page prompting, "Select Companies to Monitor."
This issue could be happening because your table might not have the required column format for the signal to properly identify company information. When setting up a News & Fundraising Signal, you need to select a column containing company domains in step 3 of the setup process. Check that your table has a column with company domains or website URLs. If this column is missing or formatted incorrectly, the signal won't be able to progress past the selection step. If the issue persists after confirming your table has the proper columns, try deleting and re-running the step, as sometimes Clay doesn't properly process changes to existing tables.
How do website URLs need to be formatted? Ex. does it require https://www at the beginning?
For News & Fundraising Signals, your table needs a column containing company domains. The URLs can be in various formats - you can use bare domains (apple.com), include www (www.apple.com), or include https:// (https://www.apple.com). When setting up the signal, you'll select this column in step 3 of the process. The key is having website URLs for the companies you want to monitor.
